"Go Tell that Fox!"

Passover to Resurrection Devotional Day 3

Go tell that fox!

Luk 13:31 On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, "Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You."

Luk 13:32 And He said to them, "Go, tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.'

Luk 13:33 Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem.

Luk 13:34 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!

Luk 13:35 See! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, 'BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!' "

Even though the Lamb was met with resistance and distractions on His journey to Jerusalem, He continues doing what He loves to do—cast out demons and heal the sick. He doesn’t miss a beat. He doesn’t let threats and circumstances change what He is called to do. Keep on doing the work of the gospel! Do not let a virus keep you from doing what you have been called to do.

Jesus calls Herod a fox, which is to say he was someone who was worthless, treacherous, but yet cunning in an unprincipled manner. We know our warfare is not against flesh and blood but against evil spirits, i.e. foxes. Today we have foxes in the church, we have foxes in the media, and we have foxes in our government. Herod was a baby killer, a narcissistic egotist who had a presentation of religion but was completely unrighteous with an evil agenda. Sounds a lot of what we see and hear on the news. The church needs her voice, but her voice is first heard in the prayer closet. We are not to fear the fox, but instead let’s tell that fox a thing or two. Declare! Decree! Do not be silent!

The devil is always trying to alter God’s timeline. Satan was trying to use Herod to keep Jesus from Jerusalem with threats and fear. This corona virus and the subsequent economic disaster is an attempt by satan to alter the timeline again. But go tell that fox! We have demons to cast out, the sick to heal and folks who need to know He desperately wants to gather them under His wings! The time is short and we must work as long as it is day. Let’s rev up and not slow down.

Dan 7:25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time.

When a bird of prey is threatening from the skies, a hen will gather her chicks under the refuge of her wings. In the last days, the bird of prey will descend to devour the unbelieving and nothing can prevent this except they run to their savior and find refuge under the shekinah glory of His wings. His heart is breaking over those who refuse Him. His passionate love pursues them yet so many refuse Him. We are being sent out as His prophets and messengers to those who are desolate. Be prepared, for not all will receive us with open arms. The foxes have been let out.

Don’t forget to pray for Israel! Pray she may join us as we cry out, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord”.
